If you really want to help the Food Bank serve our community, please follow our donation acceptance policies. Items that are in poor condition or do not sell must be dumped and this uses up valuable dollars that we would rather put into serving our community. Thank you.
Please review theses sections so you understand what we can and cannot accept:
Wood, wicker or glass top furniture items –must be in good condition with very limited damages. All doors and drawers must work smoothly and have no missing drawer pulls or handles.
Upholstered furniture – must be clean with no spots, tears, rips or stains. We do not accept noticeably faded upholstered items.
Clothing and linens - must be recently laundered and neatly folded. We do not accept items that are “wadded” up in plastic bags. We have no way to get the wrinkles out and shoppers do not purchase badly wrinkled or dirty items.
China, dishes and other glassware items – Please help us by washing these items before donating them.
Shoes – need to be very clean and current styles.
Books – Need to be in good condition. No yellow or torn “pocketbooks” are accepted.
Magazines – need to be in good condition and no more than 12 months old.
Donation Pickup - is available for furniture, complete estates and items that are too large to fit into your car. These pickups are done on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. We need advance notice in order to put your donation on the trucking schedule. Please call 415-883-1302 to schedule a pickup.
All donation pickups are at the discretion of our drivers when they get to your address.
Donation hours: 10:30 am – 4:30 pm, seven days a week.
Dropping off donations at the GoodStuff store: Please call 415-456-4227 before dropping off any donations at the store. Our sorting and floor space is very limited and we cannot always accept everything offered on a daily basis. Before unloading, please come in and ask an employee to look at your donations. Please check the list above for items that we do not take, and for the condition items need to be in to be accepted.
Dropping off large items at the GoodStuff Store: Please park in the loading zone space, next to the store, on “G” Street as all large items must be brought in through the front door. We have hand trucks and a furniture dolly available for your use when dropping off large items. Unfortunately, the volunteers are not able to help you unload furniture so please bring help with you.
Dropping off small items: You can deliver small items to our back door, in our parking lot off “G” Street during the donation hours listed above. Please see a staff person before unloading your car.
